
It certainly should not come as any surprise the way that Social Networking has become such an integral part of our daily activities. It’s been reported that people spend nearly 30% of their day interacting upon various social networks.
Something to consider is why is social networking for churches should be a vital part of your arsenal for growing both your congregation size as well as playing a major role within the community that surrounds your physical building.
Before we begin digging into this very large topic, I want to encourage you to pick one or two at the most in the way of which social networking channels that you are going to affiliate your church or ministry with. Needless to say both Facebook and YouTube are by far the biggest and yield the most results in the way of both outreach potential and providing you with a plethora of tools that you can truly customize to have a major impact on how you communicate with people.

I would venture to say that nearly everyone who has ever held a mobile device in their hand has searched for one thing or another using Google as their preferred search tool. Did you know that now both Facebook and YouTube are as large of a search tool as that of Google?
You guessed it! People turn to Facebook to find local events, gatherings, videos, things for sale not to mention the cat videos that everyone loves to share.
See, it even worked for you on here. Now let’s bring in voice recognition into the picture. Nearly everyone by now has either heard of Siri or Alexa. They have to be the two biggest names when it comes to searching for things all the way up to turning on the lights in your home or readjusting the thermostat before you go to bed. It’s pretty amazing what technology has provided us
However, sadly enough, not enough churches are utilizing some of these amazing tools to begin providing both their current members with information that may be important to things happening within it, or to communicate with your local community to invite them to visit with you.
We all remember the days of doing door-to-door evangelism and there is nothing wrong with continuing to do so. However, with families being on the go and having to run kids here and there, or single parent families that have to work two jobs just to make ends meat, I guarantee you that you’ll have a better chance engaging with them via social networking channels than you will face-to-face. Also, people are going to feel you out online before they even think of meeting you in person.
